I know the whole concept of fruitger aero as an era/visual aestetic is a bit contrived, and there's a multitude of great reasons I've been told by very smart people that it's not worth the (what I'm told is) imagined nostalgia... but I was born at exactly the right time to make this specific style crack a smile out of me. Sorry, I think it looks neat.

Really nice job to the author of this, there's a ton of passion and fun baked into this.

I don't like that this is reminding me that I'm not in my mid 20s anymore

The aesthetic hasn't aged well, but the nostalgia hits great

That's a fad. A fake nostalgia for zoomers. That's it. Aero was just the shitty OSX Aqua wannabe and the rest was Microsoft corporate aesthetics to sell you turds wrapped in shiny FX's since Vista.

Everyone else had different asthetics and no computer was equal to each other. You had zillions of plugins for Firefox, different software installed and thousands (literally) of themes for KDE, QT, GTK, Fluxbox, OpenBOX...

Also tons of so-called Frutiger aesthetics are just rip-offs from 90's styles and aesthetics on hardware. You own nothing in the end, but corporate submission.

Even Flash gaming aesthetics -which would be one of the actual aesthetics coming from the community- were really different to your 90's copycat gradients.

Heck, Winamp/XMMS skins. Tons of different wallpapers, not just your kind of Frutiger wallpapers, with very different styles. Zillions of icon themes, from flatish to Crystal variants from Everaldo.
